What type of Business is right for me?
Everyone is a resident expert at something. Business analyst agrees that Entrepreneurs who establish a business based upon a field in which they were familiar are the most likely to succeed. Keep in mind, familiarity can range from remotely familiar to up close and personal.
There are also hobbies and other fields of interest that may appeal to you. The key is to enjoy working in a specific field. You don’t want to choose a line of business for its profit potential and later find that you hate the work involved. Sooner or later the profits will reflect your attitude towards the business. Here are some ideas to jump-start your creative process.
Not your average Day Care Center (7-10 year olds):
Parents want a place to leave their children while they are busy. They would like their children to be placed in a learning atmosphere (you could invest in 2- 4 computers, at a cost of $700 to $800 per unit). They want them to have fun, (set up a learning via fun curriculum), and learn to interact with other children. This center could be operated on Saturdays, two or 3 evenings per week, and l day a week during the schools summer vacation break.
Arts & Crafts:
There is always a market for the unique object d’art that exudes quality, status, and is a good conversational piece.
Brokering Information and or objects:
An open field, that’s lucrative, and interesting. Information on where to locate little known Web sites to African American historical artifacts can be researched, compiled, and stored in a computer data base and sold to interested parties.
